FS-III Paint Additive
FS-III is a pyrolitic fire retardant
paint additive and prevents the spread of flame by developing a self-extinguishing
reaction. FS-III is a concentrated state of the art
formulation. FS-III is a paint additive for latex-based
paints and stains. This product has been tested by the United States
Testing Laboratory and Omega Point Labs in accordance with ASTM, UBC,
California Codes and NFPA standards. FS-III is sold
in pint bottles and 55 gallon drums. This product is a clear liquid
with no odor. FS-III bears a Class A, single coat
rating on gypsum board
FS-III will not affect the color or texture of
the paint unless there is an extended amount of hydrocarbons in the
paint. A sample test is needed to make sure that the paint will not
coagulate once mixed with FS-III . This product may
be used in interior or exterior paints and will assume the year rating
of the paint once mixed. This product is used widely in restaurants,
hotels, hospitals, homes.
FS-III can extend the paint up to 3 pints (including
the pint of FS-III and 2 pints of water) Once mixed, FS-III assumes
the characteristics of the paint or stain. For compatibility, it is
best to use brand names of paint/stain such as Sherwin Williams, Dutch
Boy, Benjamin Moore, etc. This product is non toxic, clear and has
no odor.
FS-III has been tested to the following
standards:
ASTM E-84, U.S. Testing Co. #LA 62142, Omega Point Labs #8746-101530 NFPA 255
CA Reg. #C-14401. Shelf life: 1 year.
Add one pint of FS-III to a gallon of latex based paint. Mix slowly, not with
drill. Once mixed the paint will become very thick, at this time add one-two
pints of water for desired thickness.
